Shamanic Healing for Animals
The
shamanic perspective holds that every being in the universe is an individual manifestation of the divine and that everything
is alive and has a spirit. This includes both our domesticated animal companions as well as those in the wild. This sacred state of unified awareness allows us the ability to communicate with all life
forms, where we can gain practical knowledge of what is necessary for the health and well being of our animal friends.
Animals can suffer from the same types of spiritual illness as their human counterparts.
Animals that have undergone trauma of any kind, be it physical, psychological or emotional, can have soul loss. Physical trauma
can include surgery (spaying, neutering), car accidents, cancer, broken bones, endocrine and hormonal imbalances or abuse.
Animals react in a similar manner as humans when they are in situations that are frightening. They may suffer soul loss and
subsequent possession and intrusion. Shamanic work can address these issues on the spirit level to help your pet heal and
begin to move beyond the trauma.
Shamanic healing
is a very deep, profound method of spiritual energy-therapy that can promote health in virtually all aspects of your pet's
life. It is predominantly beneficial for problem-solving and personal healing, including soul loss.
Like with energy-therapy, shamanic healing methods
are holistic in nature. Shamanic practitioners assess your pets health energetically by scanning (or reading) the status of his/her
mind-body-spirit connections – the balance of which is essential for health, both internal (relationship to self) and
external (relationship to others and the world around him/her).
Shamanic practitioners do not attempt to cure, which is the inclination (or trend)
of allopathic veterinary care; instead, the shaman looks at the whole system and tracks the symptoms to their source. Shamanic
practitioners understand that all illnesses have, at some level, a spiritual (or energetic) origin, almost always due to some
type of trauma which the animal has experienced. This trauma energetically imprints the animal and if left untreated
or unattended it can develop into chronic physical, mental, and / or emotional conditions. The shaman works with healing the
spiritual origins of illness such that the trauma-filled imprint no longer influences the health or reality of your cherished
companion.
